They last forever. I own an 88 XLT SPORT. Last week while stopped I was rearended by a new mid-size sedan. From the impact I suspected my Aerostar was now scrap metal. The front end on the other vehicle was pretty bad and the fender was damaged. My Aerostar other than a cracked rear bumper cover was undamaged. Aerostars are like F-150s with a Mini-van body bolted on. Mine has 200.000 miles on it and I love it.
