Damaged tyre

I came out of a restaurant 2 nights ago to find my
tyre looking like this ( in the parking area).The guys
that helped out said I must have knocked
something but I don’t recall that I did? Some are
saying it’s damage with a sharp object but I cannot
explain the bit of rim damage .. any thoughts what
happened here ?

Probably hit road debris. That tire should be replaced.
