I agree with Tom, any amount you put down will lower monthly payments. A lot of banks and dealerships will not let you take out a loan without down payment depending on full price. Most broke people like myself wouldnt be able to afford much more than $1000 down, if that, so if you can afford more than that,, youre in good shape!
