lol im a fan of the 99 and older ... because i do not like the stylin of the 05s ad up all though i will say the 2010 looks good all except for the ass end they made the tail lights really ugly

I like all years of Mustangs (Except Mustang II's) every year brought new things to the table. I am partial to the 1969/1970 Boss and hope they make a 2010 or 2011 Boss that resmbles the Boss of the past. I am making mine simular to the Boss Hoss. I also likes the Spring Edition New Edge so I made my wifes car look similar to that one.

I like all the years of mustangs except for the fox body... I'm not saying that I don't have respect for those years as their weight to TQ ratio is better then any other mustang ever built. But just visually speaking my years are 64-65 and 2005-2010.

I agree with you on the 2010 Tail lights. Don't take this wrong but not a fan of the tail light choice you are sporting on your ride. Love the Yellow New Edge as my wife's car is a Zinc Yellow Mustang.

i like mustangs from the 60s and 70s with a nice v8 and then the 2003 newer cobras and rousch racing mustangs. any v6 should be burned if you ask me and same with the gt because half of america owns them so it gets old seeing them.

75

Well Chase, I guess it's a good thing that it isn't up to you then isn't it. Because IF it were up to you then the mustangs wouldn't exist anymore because first and foremost V6's are the mustang's cash crop as most mustangs made are V6's. And GT's come in second. Not only that, but I love my V6.

If i could have any mustang from the past i would have a 1967-1969 GT500 and i would fabricate a GT500E package for her... refresh it with lots of modern parts and make myself a elenor mustang resto-mod (my favourite muscle car ever is a 1970 660 Hemi Cuda which is a modified cuda but the 660 is a good thing haha) as for the new 2010s i love the styling of them and the interior upgrades... Im looking forward to a 2011 GT with the 415hp spec coyote 5.0 mod engine... Also the new GT500 should be due for the 6.2l hurricane which will also be something i will be looking into... But for right now im very content with my 1996 Black GT which is producing 260.31rwhp and 399.46rwftlbs/tq (as of febuary 4th) I am looking into a engine swap but will likely just do a full intake upgrade, bigger injectors, slightly bigger cam, and refresh the magnaflow system which is now over 10 years old... If i were buying a racecar id get a GT and drop a aluminator engine topped with a 2.2l ford racing whipple charger... street/racecar 5.0 cammer... CAMMED !!! lol hope you agree with my insights... CHEERS!

The mustang is suppose to be a muscle car right? So why make a muscle car with no "muscle"? I feel that all american muscle cars should come with a v8 including camaros, firebirds, and chargers and if a person cant afford one then dont be a poser thinking its cool you have a car that was $10k less than the real deal

75

I agree that a Muscule car should have power. However that is a open statement. How much power is to much or not enough? The S197 (2005+ and above) using the 4.0L engine puts out more raw torque and HP then the 5.0 V8 of the late 90ies. You can throw a Supercharger on the 4.0L and make more HP then the stock 4.6L and the Stock 4.6L and 5.0L engines can be modded to make over 400+ HP. So the question again is how much is to much or not enough? Also what are your plans for the car? Just street?? Drag Strip?? Track?? I know of a guy who's V6 engine was rebuilt with forged internals and a turbo put on it and it beats GT500's There are Japanese and German V6 engines that make mad HP. So again its not the number of pistons but the other add-ons to the engine. Like was said before the V6 Mustang has allowed the Mustangs to be around. 1# selling convertible is the V6 Mustangs. BTW.. After 120MPH how much faster do you need to go since the speed limit in the US is 55. I know nobody does 55MPH but the difference in top speed between the v6 and the v8 in nominal.

16,925

i can agree with your points. there are some japanese cars with 4s and 6s that stop all over 8s here. but my point is that an american muscle car should always have an 8 because thats what american muscle cars are...V8 motors with raw power. thats my own personal preference for american muscle cars. others feel differently. but seriosuly how many v6 mustangs do you see out there tuned up comapred to the tools who think they are awesome for driving a mustang with a v6? more tools then actual car enthusiasts. just my observation

75

Nah.. have to disagree on the tools with V6's that thing they are the shit. I am part of a large Mustang club where I live and there are a decent amount of V6's. My S197 is a V6 because I orginally purchased it to be a Daily Driver to and from work. As a V6 owner I understand the potential for the V8 motors have over the V6's, However like I said before if it was not for the sheer numbers of V6's Mustangs there would not be a Mustang. I think people get a mental block with the V8 vs V6 issue though. They think because its not a V8 its not a muscule car. UUUUMMMM does the word Grand National mean anything? Come on stop looking at this with Blinders. Very soon my V6 will walk stock N/A V8's and that just to hold me over for the 2011 Mustang. Again most of the V6 owners I know understand were we are in the chain. We understand and appreciate the GT's and most would love to have one. And then GT owners would love to have Terminators and Terminator owners would love to have GT500's and the GT500 owners would love to have Super Snakes and the Super Snake owners would love to have Ford GT's.. Get where I am going here guy.. its about $$$$.. Next time I go to buy a Mustang I wish I had everyone who told me "YOU SHOULD HAVE BOUGHT A GT" standing there with their checkbooks ready to fill them out when I go for the next one.

16,925

youre lucky to be where you are then because in my area 99% of the people here buy the v6 to say they have a mustang and then throw some dumb exhaust on it and thinks its some hot rod like it can beat any car on the street. thats the image i grew up with and continue to see in my location so thats jsut the typical label i put on them. im glad to see people out there that arent tools.

15

i agree with erik cuz v6s have good potentional lol ive got a gt and id love to have a fuckin mach 1 lol

2,735

Thats kinda typical but i wouldnt make it exclusive... mustang sales go about 60%6s 35%gt and 5% SVT here... so we get a goood mix... and often the 6rs have a GT rear bumper and a dual exhaust setup on them and the cold air kit etc etc etc... some are done right and run with us but most are just lightly modded... but the V6 does have its place for sure... a properley done (mostly for throttle response) V6 will clean up on a GT in the Auto X because they dont understeer as badly given the same suspension... None of them make as good a sound but there still mustangs... and i give them props... im running a 96GT that puts down low 13s in the quarter so not many V6s keep up with me but at least the drivers are ready to run all the way through a couple gears off the line... I know i dont stand a chance against a GT500 in a quarter mile contest but in all my days ive only found one guy that was willing to prove it on the street... and most GT drivers here are ready to throw down against me (mostly because im a older GT haha) and after a couple pulls we pull over lift the hoods and talk stangs for a while that happens all the time and thats really what its all about people having the mustang ownership experience... But yeah the V8 thing is a great debate then again were running pretty tiny 8s especially compared to the bowtie boys or the goat men... the new challenger SRT8 is a hulking picture perfect definition of Muscle Car but would it be what id buy.... sadly not unless i run into a few million dollars pronto... they are just too big to be fast... and they are not appreciably faster than the current GT stangs too at a lot more money... i look forward to the next powertrain evolution for mustang i predict the TT Ecoboost V6 for the entry level (about 250-300hp) and the 5.0 coyote for the GT (400-440hp) that will be more to your liking im sure... i know its to mine...

65

if i was gonna build a mustang it would be a 5.0 with gt-40 turbo swirl heads elderbrock intake manifold with 80mm throttle body flowmasters bigger cams new headers injectors pistons and rods with lightweight fly wheel stage 2 dual friction clutch bbk short throw shifter and paxton novi 2200 at 15 lbs of boost ooooo wait i do and keep talkin bout your 96 gt with 260 rwh haha i laugh at that come at me with some real numbers like 470 to the wheels and 520 ft lbs of tq

16,925

does anybody else here think that the stage 1 and 2 rousch racing mustangs are a huge waste of money for what you get? i drove my gfs 350z with a few nismo upgrades and a stage 2 rousch that the guy had $48k in couldnt beat it. is it the stage 3 that gets the supercharger thats worth the money?

65

yea they are worthless for the money and yea the stage 3s blackjacks and what not are the only ones worth a shit. but are u talkin bout on a street course or strip that the 350 beat it in

16,925

on a side street we lined em up multiple times. he was pissed he spent that much money on it and it couldnt beat the Z haha. i laughed and told him he should have went for the next level up

65

yea for that money i would of went with a saleen for sure the roush is heavy and only puts out 400 horse the saleen s351 puts out 495hp and 550 lbs tq and is about as light as a 350 but the roush would get it on a street course cuz of the advanced suspension

16,925

yeah i cant remember why i had my girlfriends car that day but i did haha. i have my gsxr-1000 for when i went to go fast. cars dont touch it haha

16,925

haha its enough machine for me. under 10 seconds in the quarter and top speed of 190 rocks. anything that wheelies at 100 mph by giving it gas is insane haha

65

yea no shit ill give you that lol but were talkin cars not bikes thats another discussion

The 2010 Stage 3 would embarass your girlfriends 350Z. It will then go on to humiliate everything as slow as Corvette Z06 (to include the Z06) on street, strip, and roadcourse. It cost more than a GT500 but you can definately tell where the money is going. The handling, the braking, and even the ride quality are all superior. And not just a little superior, but leaps and bounds. BUT, unless the car has some additional collectable value (like it was featured in a magazine or signed by Jack Roush) it will depreciate twice as fast. To keep the warranty, you have to have every service performed at a Roush certified dealership. It costs a lot, running costs are high, and depreciation is a nightmare. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkX6ZF7utoI

I drive a 07 427R Roush(that's a stage three without some of the cladding) and it's pretty impressive. They do depreciate fast, but that makes used ones a bargain.

My favorite car of all time is my buddy's all original 1969 Boss 429 with only 9,000 miles on it. He's the original owner and almost never takes it out. He even has the original window sticker! It has been outside over night only twice since '69, and has never seen rain. It's always in the garage with its cover on. It's a BEAUTIFUL piece of history.

I know newer 1983 and up mustangs and all models of German and Jap cars, new and old, some Italians and older American Muscle. What's funny is when the young, and ignorant generation (under 30), have to look things up for an answer. May I remind all that Google is only 71.55% accurate. Not a source I'd look to for much of anything.
