I'm looking to buy a Corolla and found a few models, but was not sure of the differences between them. Looked around the internet, but could not find much info.

1986 Corolla DX 1.3 hatchback 5-door, FWD
1987 Corolla DX 1.3 Audm Spec GT 4AGE hatchback 5-door, FWD,
1989 Corolla XL 1.3 hatchback 5-door, FWD

I was just wondering about the differences in engines and basic maintenance. I'm not looking to
modify the car for racing, but I will use it for middle- to long-distance driving therefore I assume some
small tune-up will have to be done on the car to keep the engine healthy and running.

Sorry if the question seems lame, I'm new to car purchasing and owning.

i think u should get the 1989 corolla xl 1.3 hatchback 5-door . Because its is a newer model then the rest and has a good engine in it , it has an economical drive as well and it more comfortable . But before buying check evrything in it from the engine to the rubber on the door sides and drive around in ti for a couple of miles for any problems in it !
