i had this problem once with my car. have you replaced the car battery lately? i believe i installed a new battery in the car when the alarm was on and it threw it into confusion. i believe its an anti theft system when the robber is smart enough to disconnect the battery thinking it will disable the alarm for good when braking into the car. try unlocking the car.... disconnect the battery cable from the car and wait like 10 minutes and but them back on.

for better answers what year is your Celica? For mine 2000 GT Key in ignition, push the valet button, depends on factory installed or not, valet is a red button to the lower left of steering column, there is also a way to reprogram the remote. You can also shut the door and lock it with the key, reconnect battery, use key to unlock the door...
