But what?

...sorry new to this posting. Was going to say but the battery shows power on the voltmeter so it's something else. I've read some posts it could be the starter relay. Any idea what other symptoms present if it is the starter? Ways to check alternator? & ways to check the starter relay if thats possible? any help would be great, thanks.

I guess your main issue is the car isn't starting when you turn the key. Here's a quick way to see if it's the starter. Jack up car. Locate starter. Have someone hold the key to the ON position like they're starting the car. As they hold the key, rap on the starter with a hammer. If the car suddenly turns over, your starter is bad and needs replacement. If battery is at full charge, it's not an alternator issue. To test the starter relay, go to Youtube and look up "how to test a relay". Plenty of how to videos. If you do the starter test by rapping it and it doesn't turn over, you may have a faulty Neutral Safety switch. Try starting the car in neutral. Shift from drive to neutral with the key in the start position. See if it comes to life. Post back with results.......

Forgot to ask, how many volts are you getting on the battery with the engine off? Have you checked the water level of the battery? If no caps on top of the battery, it's a maintenance free battery and you can't check it. If you're getting something like 11.5 or less, your battery is bad. If your battery is around 5 years old, it's time for a new one. Also make sure your connections are free of corrosion as well as the ground. Make sure all connections are tight. Put the volt meter on the hot side of the alternator. If anything less than 14 volts, you have a bad alternator.

battery is new and got 12.75 so it's good, I'll try the starter and test the starter relay, someone told me it could be as simple as a main power fuse, but it doesn't look blown..thanks I'll try the starter
