Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Hi, I've got X Type 2.2d 59 plate, which is very nice car. It's running very
smooth but on cold start the engine interrupting. I mean, the rpm jumping
among 800 to 900. So I have to wait 5 -10 mins after start the engine
(according the weather) till warms up. Otherwise driving will be
uncomfortable for few miles because whole car pulsing back and forward.
Could you advised me what could be the problem? Thanks in advance

Had that problem in the past on my XJ8. Need to replace the cold start throttle valve located on the throttle body. Not hard to get to but may be costly. Seek out a mechanic you trust. Good luck.
