Thanks, karl. I don't really expect to drive it much, maybe 3000mi. a year. I just love the S-type jag and would like to have one to keep indefinitely. I would keep another car as my everyday driving vehicle. Given those conditions, what's your estimate of annual mainenance and repair costs?

my 2000 4.0 S Type 110k miles, for 2 1/2 years - -about $1000 annually - -2 windows went off track, stuck heater diverter valve, new battery, crazy electrical activity resulting in new sparkplugs. I usually go to the Jag dealer since they fix it in a day. Independents can be good as long as they work on late model Jags . I have many cars and find that most will have maintenance issues over 100k including Toyota and Acura.Under warranty the transmission was replaced at 50k by prior owner. Best to get all receipts from prior owner to be sure maintanance was done
