88 chev 350 blown head gasket ran i shut it off new gaskets now im gitting 3/4 rotation then lockes up ? Why???

Just so we understand, you can only turn crank by hand 3/4's of the way then it stops? You're going to have to go exploring. Timing may have jumped, or something is down in the bore preventing piston from its full travel.
