Carburetor trouble 1995-1987 engine swap

I put a1987 electric injected carbureted engine into my 95 nissan hardbody and
i have fuel upto the carb and i have spark ..but it wont run unless i dribble gas
into the carburetor...im suspicious that i just need to use a couple more of the
wires on the carb bit i dont know what to hook them up to ...any assistance
would be helpful
