Won't crank, won't turn over

Asked by GuruDKJY3 Sep 09, 2017 at 08:38 PM about the Honda Civic Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Car won't crank won't turn over but can hear the
new starter spin, replaced battery still nothing. Car
is silent besides the starter spinning. Thinking it
could be alternator but what else could it be?

Starter spinning but not engaging flywheel? May be starter solenoid related. If I'm reading your question wrong and the starter in indeed cranking the engine over and it's just not catching, then check for fuel and spark.
