Should the radiator fan keep running even after the engine is turned off?

The radiator fan on my 2000 Honda Civic DX will run after the engine is turned off and the key is still in the accessory position. For a very hot or overheating shut-down engine, shouldn't the fan keep running even after the key is removed?
