Should the radiator fan keep running even after the engine is turned off?

Asked by Jul 07, 2017 at 01:38 AM about the Honda Civic Hatchback

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The radiator fan on my 2000 Honda Civic DX will run after the engine is turned off and the key is still in the accessory position. For a very hot or overheating shut-down engine, shouldn't the fan keep running even after the key is removed?
