wheels

Question type: Car Customization

So I'm thinking of getting some wheels for my Z, 17s in front and 18s in rear. Will the different sized wheels "confuse" my Vehicle speed sensors? BTW i am getting tires that will end making the wheels/tires in front and rear to be the same height....overall height

If the rear tire overall circumference stays the same then you speedometer will be accurate. So as long as the tires are shorter to make up for the larger rim height then you will be ok.

It's cool, also know that on some cars if you throw off the speedometer you can use a hand held programmer to fix it. They let you adjust the programmed drive ratio to account for a taller or shorter tire.

the overall diameter has to be bigger in the back or the tcs or vdc whatever you have will mess up

dude, if u want the full effect, i would recommend going wit 19's in front and 20's in the back measuring at least 9inch wide in front and 10 in back. 245's in front and 30's in back. my buddy has 20's all around wc makes the front end look a bit high so we had to lower the front an inch lower. my set up might be expensive depending on wheel & tire make. your plan is going the cheaper rout...good luck

and 1 more thing kevin, the last thing you wanna concern yourself with when modifying wheel size is how accurate the speedometer is going to be! VDC is completely confused wit larger diameter wheels and tires that is why you turn the sucker off...gives you extra horsepower!
