1946 Willys Jeep Wont start
iv got a 1946 jeep that wont start. it turns over but can get it to start, its a diff
engine the customer provided. when it does turn over it cranks about 3 times
and then stops, but if i wait about 30 seconds i can crank it agian about three
times. im pretty sure i have the timing all correct. but im stumped on the engine

battery ok? starter ok? what engine...points/condensor/rotor ?????????????
Battery, Starter are brand new. This is what i have posted on another forum if it helps Iv got a 1946 willys that a customer brought in with a used engine to put in due to cracked block. I have fuel/spark/ and compretion. with spark plugs in it cranks over a cupple times and then wont crank anymore ( with a brand new battery/and brand new starter ) if i wait a couple seconds it will crank a couple more times then stop? With plugs out it will crank as long as i want. Im am 99% sure i have the timing correct, but when i have the plugs in and able to crank for a period of time it spits flame out of carb? what could i be doing wrong i have a 1943 willys myself ( as a farm toy ) I have put 3 engines in mine myself and never have had this problem. Please Need HELP?

I've got exactly the same problem with a 1945 willys MB, what was your solution?
