Hmmm, Just looked it up, Looks like a Mini-Van to me... The only companies really making Mini-vans over here are Dodge-Chrysler and Honda. it looks like it sorta has a Focus front end though...

The Ford Galaxy you are referring to is not available in the US. The reason being is that North American tastes are NOT the same as European. I have not looked into any information on this vehicle, but i can assure you, just like the Ford Contour, if Ford offered that vehicle here, it would have the same outcome as the Ford Contour which is the the Ford Mondeo in Europe (people would look into history and claim Ford cannot offer good cars!). The problem is not the car, but the CONSUMER'S VIEW of the car...so if you're looking at the same vehicle from a different perspective, you will have different opinions about the exact same vehicle. Usually, European models are engineered differently, with smaller engines which the 'average' North American consumer does NOT (although that may be changing this time around) accept as ample for use here. The suspension is also engineered to be stiffer than tolerated by the 'average' North American consumer. Also, there is usually diesel engines offered as well, to cater for the European 'average' consumer who takes the availability of a diesel engine an integral part of considering the model they are purchasing (cost of a liter of fuel is AT LEAST double in most European countries, so the higher yield of the diesel fuel is considered as a major advantage!). When was the last time you considered diesel as important as the model you were considering to purchase? ... thought so! The other reason we do not have it offered here is that most manufacturers have an agreement with each other that sometimes does not allow it to be offered in 'other' parts of the globe (the Mercury Villager was built by Ford, but was designed and parts supplied by Nissan in the 90's and only offered in North America where European Ford did not have an affiliation with Nissan there; and now the VW Routan minivan is a re-skinned (exterior redesign) of the current Chrysler Town & Country/Dodge Caravan twins, or triplets as they are now!)
