Why won't my van turn on?

Asked by BBO Jul 31, 2015 at 02:59 PM about the Chrysler Town & Country

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1998 town and country and it will not turn over at all. It was perfectly fine this
morning but when I came home and the van off it sounded as if it was still on so I double
checked and it was completely off. I turn it on and off again just to be  sure and still it
sounded as if it was still on after about 5 minutes the sound goes off but now my van
won't turn over at all. Not even my lock and unlock buttons work on my key alarm.

Did you check the battery to see if it is dead? did you try to jump start it?

Can not say for sure going by way you are explaining about the vehicle sounds like it still running but it's not but it sounds like the starter is not disengaging or is disengaging and still spinning inside starter. Starter maybe bad.
