New pump, coolant full, no T-stat and still overheats... All I can think of is a clogged radiator.

started van up cold with cap off and level rose, is that normal?
The level rising can be normal. It bursting out isnt. If it runs like crap, consumes coolant and puffs huge white clouds even after warming up then could be head gasket. But that's a huge jump to conclusions.
