The sliding doors and back door on my T and C van won't open and close all the way. What could be the problem?

The dealer just told me it was the wiring harness and it would cost $680. Any thoughts? I could use some ideas. The wiring harness being bad doesn't sound right to me.

It is a broken wire in the harness; when the door moves to a certain position, the broken wire opens, stopping the motor. The harness needs replaced, which is not that difficult, but requires some patience. The broken wire can be spliced for a temporary repair. The design and/or components are a little poor...
