Ford bantam not starting
My ford bantam 2007 rocam does not start in the
morning though it cranks normally till the battery
runs flat and it needs several kick start attempts
and thereafter it starts normally after the first initial
Check the starter selonoid cable, It runs in the same channel as the Crank Angle Sensor wiring. The Starter selonoid wiring is a High voltage wire and induses voltage surge into the low voltage sensor wires. Remove the Starter selonoid wire right away from the Sensor wiring channel.
I have the same problem. Only in winter. Today I used a heat gun to heat the coil pack and the throttle control body. It still did not start but attempted to start somewhat. Its something to do with the very cold. I checked the spark was on the plugs but looks weak. I put some quick start into the throttle body and it missed fired badly for a minute and then run normally. After this it now runs normally until tomorrow morning in the cold again. Not sure what to replace now. The Solenoid wire does not run in the same channel as the crank, mine is a 2008.
Replacing the Idle control valve (Ford call it bypass valve, Ford R2900 Goldwagen R850). it was making a buzzing noise when switch on ignition.The new one does also buzz but not as loud. All service Items replaced. (leads plugs fuel filter air filter, no improvement) Changed Throttle control sensor, Replace Fuel regulator sensor( On the Fuel Rail) Same problem. Solenoid wire on its own. Disconnect and charge battery for 8 hours.(PCM supposedly to reset) Still use quick start in the morning only.Misfire and wont idle for a minute or so,then rev a bit high and normal rest of the day.Found that connection on the positive red of the starter motor is not great from the battery. Remove clean and tighten. Same problem but starter now at full speed. Get a new Temperature Control sensor (R140 from Autozone,Sits in the heat housing where all hoses join) Problem solved, after spending a awful amount of money. Measured the difference on the sensor in Ohm. New was 26.1 ohm and the other was 3.9 Ohm.
