Chrysler 3.3 over heat

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

replaced rad / stat / upgraded to dual fans (working) passed chem block
test 4 times. why is coolant hotter at bottom of eng. 220 degree as
compared to stat outlet measured w. infrared temp gun @ 195 + - 205
causing over heat if not shut dwn. suspect wrong rotation water pump
replaced before I acquired this sickling, is this possible? How to know what
oem water pump was? Any other ideas?

Check transmission coolant lines a small blockage there can cause a hassle basic rules of cooling system, thermo, pump, leaks, blockage, just curious have you used one of those lead leak sealers

It's Hotter at the bottom because that's where it enters the radiator from the engine. The laws of thermodynamics will cause the Hot coolant to rise to the top where it will reenter the engine block. Actually the temperature seems normal. At 220F you have about 3 lbs of pressure in the system .. well below the 15lbs that would result in boiling over
