why does the bell ring just before i start the engine in my kia spectra, it will ring about 7 times if i wait before starting the engine

Haha you mean the hampsters in the wheel that drive the vehicle?

no to all, i was informed that the chime was for the oil pump and that i should not start the engine until the chimming stops. this has been since i bought the car my husband says, im wrong, but he can't tell me what the chimming is for so i was hoping to get an answer here
