2001 Cadillac Deville starting problems sometimes

I have a Cadillac Deville 2001, sometimes starts perfect, sometimes it does nothing when I turn on the key, then when I try it two or three more times it starts right up. Just changed the cam sensor, no difference.

I suspect loose or dirty battery connections. Clean and tighten all battery connections and negative connections to the frame and motor. If all that checks out I would have starter tested and check the neutral safety switch.
