What signifies the Hurst qualifiaction for a 442?  It it the engine size or the body style?  What year did this begin?

Hurst Oldsmobile's were limited production Option Packages installed by Hurst... Hurst Shifter... Special paint...Stripes...And Badges...Usually they had the top engine option with modifications...Like bigger cam...Ram Air etc...Sweet fast cars...

Hi it might sound dumb because im only 13 but my dad is a olds lover and what i know about it is that the hurst olds like the guy said above me the hurst olds package started in 68 it went till like 80 something i think and the hurst would normally get the 455 big block olds with some goodies and the special stripes, paint, stuff like that.

The 68 Hurst Olds (HO), and special is an under statement, is silver with black accents the later years went to white with fire frost gold accents. The all came with the 455 before such monsters could be delivered in a mid sized … by GM decree it was not to happen. ALL HOs were manufactured in Lansing then delivered to Hurst where the magic was supposedly added, we do know that's where the paint and cam shaft changes occurred. These 455 had some special items, one was the heads, the "D" heads were only available on the 69 and a few later years of HOs, non of the other production cars saw them. The cold air intake scoop air cleaner … actually had some FOMOCO parts, leading some to believe they were made for Hurst by Ford … Who knows ...
