Door hinge rust issues.

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Has anyone been told that Sonomas have this issue? The spring in the door decided to pop out a few weeks ago, and I do not have a tool to get it back in so I took it in and they tried to say it would cost me a couple hundred dollars to fix! Supposedly it is more then just putting the spring back in but that the hinge has issues which is supposedly common, but I have never heard this in the 6+ years I have had my truck.

there are a lot of issues that no one will tell you about until after it has happened to you. it prevents you from having to spend more money than you need to and it also saves the dealer money by not having to replace faulty equipment, also being a mechanic myself, the reason the spring is gonna cost so much to fix is because of labor moreso than parts, the everage labor rate is between 80 and 100 dollars an hour, but if you are having a problem with rust in the hinges themselves then i recoment looking for some stuff called PB Blaster, the stuff it wonderful, its like industrial strength WD-40, just try not to get it on the paint.
