I have a 2012 GMC 2500 4x4 with the V8 6L Vortex engine.
I am interested in buying a 5th wheel trailer that weighs 10,
112 without additional weight such as putting water in
water tank. It holds 81 gallons x 8.5 lbs per gallon = 688
additional lbs.... 10, 800 lbs total. Can my truck pull this and
if not, can i do something to upgrade my towing
I think you probably can but you would need to check the towing capacity based on the gearing as well. Water is not the only weight you will add. Thick of all the other stuff you will take along. Upgrading the engine and transmission cooling is probably a good idea.
I don't know muchnof the car lingo, what do you mean the gearing as well
The final gear ratio is a factor in the towing capacity.
