i think it stands for EXTRA FACTOR but it's only a guess

XK, XJ, XF... are not acronyms just the model name.

vvti is the type of engine a toyota uses, so it will have a name like a corolla vvti. XF is the model of the car, nothing to do with the engine. Because its called a Jaguar XF there is no car with that as the name of the car for eg, toyota vvti, it will be a toyota corolla vvti.

Some dolt above states that XF is not an acronym. Correct, but it also not a name. They are two letters. Sure wish the people who worked at these dealerships knew what product they are selling. (R/T is Road and Track, GTO are the 3 first letters for a race track in Italy, Cadillac had a GT --Grand Touring, etc.. So there must be a real meaning for XF) v

No, GTO is Gran Turisimo Omologato in Italian. It means the car is “homologated” that it is produced in sufficient numbers to be able to race in a certain category - not a one/off special.
