1994 F450 Super Duty Diesel Motor, 7.3: Brakes Locking

Asked by pshea97 Dec 19, 2014 at 01:05 AM about the Ford F-450 Super Duty

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The brakes keep locking up when I press them and won't release. I could get them
undone by pounding on the pedal. Any ideas why this might be happening? I parked the
truck for fear it would happen again and I couldn't get them undone. Any help is much
appreciated.

Just a guess maybe the wrong type of brake fluid. Are you in cold weather maybe check to see if they have specific fluid for different weather conditions. Is the fluid old. I would have a mechanic bleed your system and replace with new fluid. Could someone have put power steering fluid or the wrong fluid in the resivoir? Just asking?
