could a bad oxygen sensor or thermostat, cause cooling fan to come on before reaching temperature? temp relay is brand new. Check engine light comes on, car sputters a little, and fan will not automatically shut off until engine is cut and restarted

The computer goes unto a default mode. U need to retrieve the engine codes to see what is wrong with the car. The fan is not the issue.
