easiest things to do are change the oil and filters replace the spark plugs and ht leads with performance ones (i would suggest spitfire plugs and leads) then get your self a performance air filter (k&n pipercross do your homework on these some offer different types and for different models, cotton filers are btter than paper as they allow air toflow better.) lower it and get a set of alloys that will drastically improve your handling.

lower, bbs alloys if u can get them a cat back exhaust, colour coding or smoothing and get a cone filter for some induction noise jus ome common things that have seen on polos

deffo lower and get alloys as i said i did forget the exhaust but if your after performance make sure you go to a reputable company and not just buy bolt ons as most of them just offer cosmetic parts which is cool if that is what your after.

Got alloys, need to lower it, already have plans for a K&N air filter, new oil is needed, hand a brand new exhaust in last year so nothing to worry about there, may need a new clutch soon though as its quite high right now. But spark plugs a biggun and thinking about changing it from a 8v to a 16v, may be costly but the power will fly up. However! i would like to know more about this vtec, so i'll look into that. Plus i dont want my polo looking like a common polo!!!!!

Remember; when modifying various engine components you need to complement it with another. So you're planning to get an air filter? This increases the air entering the engine. So you'll need to increase fuel intake, therefore you need upgrade the fuel filter and fuel pump. So now you've got more air and fuel entering the engine, so you upgrade the sparkplugs and the ignition leads. And now you need to get rid of the increase of waste gases, so get a back box for your exhaust system. A flywheel will make your engine rev more freely and make it feel like it's got way more power. You've got more power now say about 20% more, so you need a higher performance clutch. More power = higher speeds, so wider tyres (hopefully your alloys have made this happen). You need more stopping power too, I'd recommend you converting the brakes to the same spec as the GTI model. Now handling; I'd say anti-roll bars (front and back) uprate the suspension dampers to lower the car and stiffen it up too. Oh yeah, get the engine chipped.
