What engine came stock in my 1973 Road Runner

Asked by Jul 31, 2017 at 04:43 PM about the 1973 Plymouth Road Runner

Question type: General

Vin# RM21L3R3215XX for my car. I can't find a reference for an engine L code for 1973. What would it be? The car was made in Canada. I don't have a fender tag or build sheet for the car.

The standard engine was an exclusive 383 cu in (6.3 L) "Roadrunner" V8 engine rated at 335 bhp A option was the 426 CID Hemi rated at 425 bhp (and 490 lb·ft of torque.

73 engine 318 cu in (5.2 L) V8 400 cu in (6.6 L) V8 340 cu in (5.6 L) V8 440 cu in (7.2 L) V8 sorry that was the 68 version with the 383 and 426

The VIN decoder I looked at does not have an L engine option. Perhaps Canada had a different code that was not used in American made cars. http://www.lhmopars.com/vin66-74.htm
