98 chevy lumina will run fine, then randomly not start. But after a couple hours it starts right up. Whats wrong?

Asked by MattyP Mar 24, 2014 at 12:54 PM about the 1998 Chevrolet Lumina

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I will drive it around to run errands and it will work fine, but sometimes ill start it and it will
turn over then pudder out and not run. Once it does this I have to wait a few hours without
trying to start it. Once I come back to it a couple hours later it starts right up. What is
causing this, and what do I need to fix?

I'm watching for an answer as mine is doing something similar except that it will run if I press the gas pedal slightly. Mine is a 1989 Olds Ciera 2.8 ltr.
