Starting issue

Asked by ForIrma Oct 11, 2019 at 11:58 PM about the 2008 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Honda CRV has a weak to no engine crank and the
battery tested good at two auto parts stores. The
car jump starts easily. The battery is rated at 600
cca and went as high as 800 cca on load test. The
battery is noticeably warm after load test,  but
passes load test.  It also passes hand held battery
test at auto zone. Is it possible that the battery is
bad, or should I  suspect any other issues? Battery
connections are very tight.

If the engine jump-starts easily, then the electrical connections beyond the battery, along with the ignition switch, work well. The only fault in this system then would appear to be the battery or the cable connections to it. Since the battery checked out with more than one test, make sure the connections at the battery are tight & clean.
