I don't mean to crash this thread but I represent Ford and I wanted to clarify some of the specifications listed. The standard 2008 Focus 2.0L engine (which is available in most of the US) generates 140hp@6000rpm and 136lb-ft@4250rpm of torque. The engine output listed is for the Duratec 20E PZEV 2.0L engine which is in vehicles sold in MA, CA, NY, VT and ME. I just bought one, and I love it.. keep this in mind. My last two cars were mustangs. I have plenty of power, but its not a sports car- its not. It gets me 32 mpg average, I drive the five speed- nicely I might add. I have more trunk space then I have ever had, more room in the back, four doors for loading my son it the car seat, I can tell it to read me my text messages- its bad A$$. Who would say its not practical- hell ford will bring me 5 gallons of gas for free if I run out.. and that equates to 160 miles. On a full tank it says 445 miles to Empty.. that is from Phoenix to San Diego with no stops buddy.. they nailed it on the focus. -Joe

If you want to see a Focus with more "balls" , try out a Euro model !! It seems anything made in Europe has better fit and finish , as well as power . Take a look at the Australian Fords too ( small cars offered with huge V8's) , better performance and better built.
