Locked keys in trunk

I have a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme it has a
trunk release button in the glove compartment will
that work without keys being in ignition can it be
hot wired or could it be a
fuse?

I suspect it will not work without keys as a security feature. You probably should call a locksmith.

Rather than risk damaging the electrical system I'd call a locksmith. It'll probably be cheaper in the long run. Some of those switches complete the circuit to ground (-) when you press the button while others complete the circuit on the hot (+) side. You'd have to look at a wiring diagram for the vehicle to be sure before you try hot wiring it. HTH. -Jim
