I have a 1987 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme it has a trunk release button in the glove compartment will that work without keys being in ignition can it be hot wired or could it be a fuse?

as above, but wif I hold accel. down, it will cut in & out, alternately firing & misfire, release accel & it dies, will restart & idle, but don't touch accel.
