i installed an Edelbrock 3711 intake on my 307 with 7A heads with no leaks and it runs good should I worry?

If it runs good what are your worried about? Does it still pass smog inspection?

Yes, the inspector said it was better than most new cars. What I'm worried about is all the talk that it's the worst thing you can do. I was just concerned that it will do some damage to the rebuilt engine.

Yes it will but the intakes are significantly larger than the head ports by 65%. That is too much work for a cruiser.
