The word budget and 500 hp don't go well together, keep in mind if you want that many ponies the trans and rear end will need attention as well, G body rear ends don't like high horsepower. Is the lower end stock other than the bore? What's your budget? Need to know before we begin a combo.

i told you what to do..just put a stroker kit in it..they are cheap..and it will cost less money to do so and be stronger..

A stroker only improves the lower end and is a good idea but it needs to be backed up with a good upper end, real power is made in the heads and intake.

what have you been smoking? remember theres so substitute for cubic inches..what are you calling the upper end?head, springs ,push rods etc. i mean really if ihe strokes it,i would think he would put on some good heads..and dont forget a big carb..cause an engine never boggs cause its getting to much air, just not enough fuel.. so at least a 850 dp

nice..ls3?? i said stroker cause its really cheaper than turn crank balance rpds new pistons.i mean for the same price..you have free cubic inches.yep..i was a camarro lover had a big rat in my 67...just liked the wing window..hey i could hide you some nos on that thing for ya..just a dry stage and set the fuel pressure to come on when needed. heres a picture of a little 9 second DOT car i started

Thanks for the reply what combination of part would u say would have me meet my goal? I have some 411 rear gear that i can put n my brother have 373 if that a better if for what im trying to do for the tran i have a couple of them.

Go with a 410/411, u want all the help you can get.. What trans? ..your not going to get anywhere without some good compression.if you have to add a few gallions of a higher octane,so be it..

To honestly achieve 500 horse you need to save some more. A good set of heads will be around $1500, a cam swap with everything (push rods, lifters, etc) is about $500, carb and intake is around $600. Will the car be street or strip? if street, the rear gear should be 3:73. A rear end build is around $1500 for that kind of horse power. Headers and exhaust will be around $800 See how quickly it add's up. and that doesn't include all of the trans and misc. stuff.

The heads for $675 are stock ports and valves and a roller cam retro fit kit is around $500. You must have access to discounted parts whereas must people don't. Lee just take the time, look at parts and prices so you can get an idea of what you want to do and what you can afford. We'll keep it simple to start.

Thanks n that this time time is all i have and i do want to do it right n on the money i do see i would have to up my budget thanks i will keep yall up dated on my progress.
