Get a paperclip (no joke) and put it in the two terminals in the upper right corner of the ALDL connector under the dash with the ignition off. Once you have the paperclip in there turn on the ignition but don't try to start the engine. The check engine light will begin flashing. You need to count the flashes. Reference code 12 will flash out first three times. It will be flash (pause), flash, flash. Once it's done that it'll flash out any stored trouble codes the same way three times each. A code 32, for example will be flash, flash, flash (pause) flash, flash (long pause) then repeat the 32 two more times. Once all the stored codes have flashed out code 12 will begin flashing again. You can then turn off the ignition and remove the paperclip. HTH. -Jim
