Buick LeSabre motor swap
I have a 1985 Buick LeSabre and I wanted to know if I
could put a 5.7L v8 from a 93 Roadmaster into the
LeSabre without having to modify anything crazy
It will not be "plug n play" you will have some modifications, don't know where you draw the line on Crazy. 1985 was the last year they made rear drive LeSabres...a V6 was the standard engine but most had a 350 V8. If I was doing it, I would also use the Roadmaster transmission. If you don't I don't know if the Roadmaster V8 will bolt to the LeSabre transmission. The other reason to use the transmission is after 1991 the transmissions were electronic and when you make the swap you MUST use the Roadmaster ECM to run the engine and it also controls the transmission so it make sense to use them together. Don't expect any of the wiring to plug so you need to get the engine harness from the Roadmaster to make the job easier.
So if I use the Roadmaster tranny and harness I should be good? By crazy I just mean cuts or welds as I do not possess the necessary tools
Or what if I am taking it from fuel injection to carbureted would that help at all
