What convertible top mechanism's will fit my 66 Lesabre?

Asked by Guru9MDGM Aug 14, 2017 at 05:28 PM about the 1966 Buick LeSabre

Question type: General

I know trim, and a lot of parts will work from the
Chevrolet/Pontiac/Olds/Buick, as far as the convertible top MATERIAL goes,
but what I'm asking about, is the metal folding scissor type of convertible top
assy., what other years will work on the Buick, as far as bolting right on?  Is
Impala the same?  If so, what years??  What I'm talking about doing, is going
to a junk yard, unbolting a whole convertible top assy., and putting it on my
car in one piece!  Will Pontiac work?  What year's/model's will work on my
1966 Buick LeSabre Convertible?  Thanks!

I believe Chevy and Pontiac used the same basic body. That scissor mechanis was not used much and they did not make that many convertibles.....so you may need to search for the parts.

I'm about the find out the REAL answer to this question! I have a 66 LeSabre Convertible, needing header bow, and both left and right hand side clamp downs. So, instead of paying out the ying yang for them on ebay, I've found several Pontiac/Chevrolet complete convertible tops, that I'm heading out to see this weekend, measure, and hopefully buy and install on my Buick. I'll let you know, if it fits!
