Asked by MMhorton Aug 11, 2013 at 09:25 PM about the 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass

Question type: General

I am in the market for a 72 cutlass.  There are so many cloans that I want to be able to
identify what the car was born as.  What part of the VIN identifies supreme, 442 and all
the other models and what are those numbers.

These have all been very helpful. Once I begin my search I will now at least look like I know what I am doing. Any good places to search. I have been checking the local craigs list and also Auto Trader Classics.

Mike if you go on YEARONE web site and tell them to send you a book inside the book it has a diagram that breaks down the VIN and it will tell you everything you need to know
