I used the wrong key in my car, the right key wont turn at all

Asked by Apr 30, 2017 at 02:13 PM about the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put the wrong key in to start my car before I realized.  It won't turn to on, it
won't turn at all.  I can't take it out of park. If I can disconnect the battery will
that fix my problem?

Try unlocking the driver car door with the key manually, no fob, this will clear the fault.
