High RPM

My 2001 malibu has been sitting for a year I
just got a new starter for it But when I start it
my RPM is high when its in park And goes
down alil bit when its in reverse Can
anybody tell me what 2 do bout this?

The car, computer needs to relearn itself, all the memory has ben erased, that is if the battery was disconnected, or went dead while sitting, Just drive it for awhile so every thing can relearn the settings.
