What transmission does a 2002 chevy suburban use,mine slips in 3rd can this be fixed in car or will it need to be pulled thx

Fixed and pulled would be the same thing in your situation. Slipping means the trans is shot. Time for a replacement or rebuild. Contact a local transmission shop what to look for if you want to go the used route. They would have suggestions on where and what to look for.
