Transmission

Asked by Stephen Dec 08, 2016 at 12:18 AM about the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I need another transmission on my 2002 Chevy
suburban. Can i use a old school 400 turbo in my
02 suburban?

1 Answer

That would be an interesting swap. I don't know how intertwined the trans and the engine controls are in the cars computer but maybe if you had an engine management computer from a manual transmission engine it could work. I think the turbo 400 was last used in 1990 so maybe it could be done but would it really be worth it?
