2002 Chevy Silverado key won't turn

I have 2002 Chevy Silverado I put the key in the ignition and now the key will
not turn. I have to make 15-20 attempts for it to turn. Once it turns it starts.
Please advise.

Sounds like it needs a new lock cylinder and key. The thing is they have to be programmed. It is best to take this to the dealer for repair.
