The 02 Sensor is located in the exhaust system. There is usually one located in the exhaust manifold or downpipe to the front of the catalytic convertor, and there may be one located to the rear of the catalytic convertor, in the center pipe for the exhaust. Your console light sounds like a light bulb problem, try removing the console and replacing the light bulb for the PRNDL assembly.
