Question type: Maintenance & Repair

We put a new timing chain & gaskets in
motor & cant get it dialed in it runs fine at idol
but try to step on it & it starts loading up &
we can’t figure out why. Tried several
different carbs & same results. Motor is all

Pull #1 plug and get piston to T.D.C. Then make sure everything is in sync with timing light. check distributor for firing order and proper plug wire location. Check all vacuum lines and line to vacuum advance to distributor. Start engine at idle and rotate distributor to advance timing under load. This would be how to properly start a fresh motor the first time
