I have a 64 GTO but someone has replaced one of the front fenders with one from a 4 door car, how can I tell which one is the correct front fender.

Question type: General

The two fenders clearly aren't exactly alike.  Are there factory numbers i can look for stamped in the metal somewhere?

The GTO was a package available on the 64 Tempest, 65 is when the first true GTO was produced. The 64 Tempest and GTO were Identical accept for little trim and decal variations.

sorry brad 66 was the first production year for the GTO . 64 & 65 GTO was an option package. what is different about the fenders , 64 & 65 dont interchange. the fenders from a 4 dr or 2 dr should be the same as far as the lines go. got a pic?

The '64 fenders are a one year only part. Two and four doors would have the same fenders. The quarter panels would be different of course. The '64 and '65 quarters are the same. Also in '64 and '65, the GTO was an option package on the LeMans line. It was not optional on the Tempest.
