I am looking to purchase a project car and the cowl tag has many different letters and numbers but not a specific VIN as I am used to. The top line has 64-237 Body BF 3392 with a 4-2 above those numbe
Cowl tag on 64 Tempest said to be a GTO Tag reads like this below
64-237 Body BF 4- with 339 under that
Next row reads Trim 14 Paint NIA
ACC B70 B80 C08 7425
I have to decide by tomorrow so if anyone can decode that for me I would
appreciate it. firstname.lastname@example.org
I can't decipher the cowl tag numbers provided but why would anyone be selling the car as a Tempest if it was a GTO? No one would clone a GTO down to a tempest. What has the seller told you? The car is and probably always has been a Tempest and over the years it may have had a 389 put in it. If you want to build a GTO clone, it may be a good car to do that but all the things that separated the GTO from the Tempest will not be there on this body.
