I can't decipher the cowl tag numbers provided but why would anyone be selling the car as a Tempest if it was a GTO? No one would clone a GTO down to a tempest. What has the seller told you? The car is and probably always has been a Tempest and over the years it may have had a 389 put in it. If you want to build a GTO clone, it may be a good car to do that but all the things that separated the GTO from the Tempest will not be there on this body.
